Statement of Faith

At Camp Myrtlewood, we are committed to being nonpartisan, providing a sanctuary for both kids and adults to experience the beauty of the outdoors and the peace of nature. Rooted in the traditions of the Church of the Brethren, which for over three centuries has emphasized peace and hospitality, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Our mission aligns with the Church of the Brethren's 20th-century focus areas: educating young people through camping and youth programs, emphasizing service, missions, and peacemaking, increasing ecumenical involvement, and fostering a new denominational structure. As a ministry for the Church of the Brethren, Camp Myrtlewood embodies these values by offering a refuge from politics and technology, allowing guests to reconnect with nature and their faith.

We welcome all who seek spiritual renewal and recreation and firmly reject any group that promotes hate or discrimination. Our approach is to create a safe, nonpartisan space where individuals can find peace, grow in their faith, and appreciate the tranquility of the natural world. This is our ministry and our mission.
